Woodlane Pantry is a South Australian food business and verified social enterprise that turns quality surplus produce into practical, delicious, shelf-stable meals. Based in Mannum on the Murray River and founded by Kelly Johnson, it exists to do two things: help Australian farmers get value for produce that doesn’t meet supermarket expectations, and help people prepare nourishing meals with less effort. A marked pumpkin or an oddly shaped vegetable still represents a grower’s time, money and hard work, and Woodlane Pantry finds the job each ingredient is good at.

Its Single Serve and XL Single meal bases are designed especially for people cooking for one, including older Australians and anyone living alone. Just add water and cook, with many meals ready in around 10 to 15 minutes, then add your own protein, vegetables or seasoning to suit. The range includes Apricot Curry, Chow Mein, Bolognese, Mushroom Ragout, risottos, soups and rice puddings. The meals need no refrigeration before preparation, so they keep easily in the pantry, and they’re lightweight enough for travellers, caravanners and hikers too. Pouches are home-compostable.

Kelly started in an approved home kitchen in Mypolonga with a small dehydrator, inspired by making hiking meals for Scouts. Today the business has a shopfront in Mannum, has created more than 70 products, and reports saving more than 187 tonnes of produce, returning more than $1 million to farmers and supplying more than 87,000 packets Australia-wide. Kelly was named the 2025 South Australian AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award winner, and the business won the Sustainability and Waste Management category at the 2024 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards. Visit the shop at 84 Randell Street, Mannum, or browse the range online at woodlanepantry.au.

Diib member review

“I want to use it to focus on searches that could bring customers, such as “single serve meals Australia”, “pantry meals for one” and “easy meals for seniors”. These are starting ideas to investigate. Its Rank Guard feature also identifies existing rankings it thinks I could improve on and provides comparisons and suggestions. I'll treat those as opportunities to assess, rather than promised results. I'm hoping Diib could be a useful guide and monitoring tool, but its value comes from acting on the recommendations. Fingers crossed.”
