PV Reporter is a patient-founded education and research resource for people living with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of rare blood cancers that includes polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET) and myelofibrosis (MF). Through research updates, specialist interviews, patient stories and practical tools, it helps patients and caregivers find clear answers and take a more informed role in their care.
Patient advocate and author David Wallace founded PV Reporter in 2013, four years after his own polycythemia vera diagnosis. He built the resource he wanted as a patient: one place where medical information, expert perspectives and lived experience come together. David received the 2016 MPN Hero Award for his advocacy work, and since launch the site has reached more than 1.3 million visitors in more than 75 countries.
Alongside its coverage of treatments, clinical studies and drug approvals, PV Reporter offers free tools including an MPN Specialist Directory reviewed by an MPN specialist, an MPN Clinical Trial Finder built on ClinicalTrials.gov data that requires no personal information, and MPN Search for exploring trusted medical and advocacy sources. Patient stories, articles on everyday concerns such as chronic pain, brain fog, itching, sleep and nutrition, and the MPN Chronicles Podcast keep the person living with the condition at the center. Through its nonprofit sister organization, MPN Cancer Connection, readers can also find help with co-pays, travel and other practical needs.
