Welcome to The Club at Sandstone Country Club. We want to tell you a little bit about who we are, what we’re doing here, and why we couldn’t be more excited to have opened our doors to you.
When our family took the reins of the historic golf course and changed the name to Sandstone Country Club in the spring of 2024, we didn’t just see a beautiful 18-hole golf course; we saw a place with deep roots in the community and a boundless potential to be something more. We saw a place where memories were made, where friendships were forged on the fairways, and where the sunset over the rolling Missouri hills was a shared experience. And we knew, right from the start, that the heart of this place needed a heartbeat—a central gathering spot where the stories from the day could be told over a fantastic meal and a cold drink.
That’s how the idea for “The Club” was born. It’s more than just a restaurant. We think of it as the living room of Sandstone, a place that’s both a destination in its own right and the perfect 19th hole.
Our Philosophy: Familiar, But Better.
So, what kind of food can you expect? Our menu was built on a simple idea: let’s take the American classics we all know and love and do them right. No shortcuts, no compromises, just honest-to-goodness delicious food made with care. This isn’t about reinventing the wheel; it’s about perfecting it.
Think of the perfect burger. For us, that means a hand-pattied, perfectly seasoned patty, seared to lock in the juices, served on a toasted brioche bun that’s soft but sturdy, and topped with fresh, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and your choice of sharp cheddar or american cheese. It’s simple, but when every element is perfect, it’s sublime.
Think of our tender steak and cheese sandwich, a true Midwest staple. We take pride in making sure it’s cooked to your liking, and generously sized, served with green peppers and onions, and white american cheese on a bun that can handle it. It’s the kind of meal that feels both nostalgic and satisfying. From our loaded nachos that are perfect for sharing with your foursome to our fresh, crisp salads topped with grilled chicken, every dish is crafted with a focus on flavor and quality.
We believe great food doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does have to be made with passion. Our kitchen team obsesses over the details, just like our grounds crew obsesses over the roll of our Bent grass greens. That commitment to quality is the common thread that runs through everything we do here at Sandstone.
What Sets Us Apart? It’s All About the Feeling.
In a world of chain restaurants and fleeting trends, we wanted to create something that felt lasting and real. The Club is a place where you can feel equally comfortable stopping in for lunch in your golf attire or celebrating a special anniversary with your family. We threw out the old, stuffy country club rulebook that said you had to be a member or dress a certain way to enjoy a great meal.
Our doors are open to everyone. We are a public establishment, proud to serve the entire Warrensburg community, from students at UCM, to Whiteman AFB, to families who have lived here for generations.
What truly makes The Club unique is the atmosphere. Our dining room and patio offer what we believe are some of the best views in Johnson County, overlooking the lush, tree-lined fairways of the course. There’s something special about enjoying a meal while watching the sun dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the greens. It’s peaceful. It’s beautiful. It’s an experience you can’t get anywhere else in town.
We are not a faceless corporation. We are a local, family-owned business. We live here, our kids grew up here, and we are invested in making our community a better place. We poured our hearts into renovating this space to be warm, inviting, and comfortable—a true reflection of the hospitality we want to share.
