Our stunning canal boat can host 6 people and caters for 7 and 14 nights self-drive cruises. We offer really comprehensive training so that complete novices to canals and boats can learn how to operate the boat, the canal infrastructure and have fun safely.

Our boat, Portland, is completely bespoke and is a real eye-turner! We know we have one of the best canal boats on the waterways, and we think customers will have the best canal boat holidays with us aboard Portland.

Our boat is perfect for a pair of couples; families with children or groups. It has large outdoor spaces to the bow and the stern, and three comfortable double beds. With Wi-Fi and a smart TV, plus two toilets and a large shower, Portland is beautifully equipped.

We are based at the stunning Mercia Marina (Europe’s largest inland marina), with restaurants, bars and cafes aplenty. Our customers have access to the facilities here should they choose to use, perhaps as a final night stop following their voyage through the history and beauty of Derbyshire and the English Midlands.

Our reviews speak for themselves, too. Families love the activities provided by lock-keeping and operating the boat, whilst mooring up in pretty spots for the night. And couples enjoy the quality time together, and the pubs! All who stay aboard Portland have loved it.
