St. Louis Dog School

So you start to think, “Hey, my dog just needs to get out and walk more.” You are definitely not wrong, but now going for a walk is a nightmare! You leash up your pup, go to the door, and their excitement goes to a level 10. You open the door and they go flying out, and now they have damn near pulled your arm out of the socket! You get outside, you wrestle the dog closer, get the door shut and locked up and now you are ready to go. Frustrated, but still optimistic. Welp, the optimism is short-lived, your dog is pulling left and right, smelling this, smelling that. Barking and pulling at every dog and person it sees. Your being dragged around every where you go and you haven’t even made it a block down the street!

Maybe you continue your walk, but it is still all the same stuff happening, pulling, barking, frustration, frustration, FRUSTRATION! So that’s it. No more walks. No more embarrassments, no more struggles. But, this is just a viscous cycle. You try to take the dog for a walk, they act like a maniac. So you stop walking them, they turn into a terror in the house all over again. So you take them for a walk, and here we are again. Round and round we go.

Finally, you have had enough. No more jumping, no more barking out the window, you are fed up!

But where do you start? Do you send them to a board and train, where they do who knows what to your dog? Or do you get private one on one lessons that puts majority of the training in your hands?

The key to training your dog is to be consistent. Consistent rules, consistent standards, consistent practice. Every day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. It gets exhausting!!
