Reflection Family Interventions Reflection Family Interventions is a family-owned and operated company dedicated to helping families navigate the most difficult crossroads of mental health and addiction. Founded on the belief that no family should ever have to face these challenges alone, Reflection provides comprehensive intervention services, long-term family recovery coaching, and compassionate guidance rooted in clinical best practices. Unlike many intervention providers, we are fully independent of treatment centers. This allows us to design truly personalized approaches based on each family’s needs, not on the availability or financial incentives of a facility. At Reflection, we understand that addiction and mental health disorders do not affect individuals in isolation—they reverberate throughout entire family systems. Parents, siblings, spouses, and children often carry invisible wounds of worry, fear, guilt, and exhaustion. That is why our mission is twofold: to help loved ones access the professional care they need while also equipping families with the tools, boundaries, and support necessary to heal in their own right. Every service we provide is anchored in the belief that family recovery is not secondary to individual recovery—it is essential. What Sets Us Apart Reflection is more than an intervention company; we are a family-recovery organization. What makes us unique in our field is our long-term, family-centric model of care. Most intervention services end once a loved one accepts treatment, leaving families to navigate the uncertainty and aftermath on their own. Reflection bridges that gap with a six-month intensive family-coaching curriculum that continues well beyond the initial intervention. This program guides families through setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, addressing enabling and codependency, processing ambiguous loss, and developing new patterns of communication and resilience. Another key differentiator is our independence. Many interventionists are contracted or affiliated with specific treatment centers, meaning their recommendations may be limited by the facilities they represent. Reflection is proudly independent. We work with every major professional intervention model and collaborate with a wide range of vetted treatment providers nationwide. This independence ensures that our recommendations are clinically driven, tailored to the individual’s diagnosis and family circumstances, and never influenced by outside business arrangements. Reflection is also committed to transparency. Families are often overwhelmed by conflicting information, false promises, and high-pressure tactics in the treatment industry. Our approach is grounded in clarity and integrity. We provide straightforward education about treatment options, recovery timelines, and the emotional dynamics of family healing. We see ourselves as guides—partners walking alongside families in the most critical moments of their journey. About Our Founders Reflection Family Interventions was founded by Andrew and Shahar Engbring, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in the behavioral health field. From Industry Leadership to Innovation Before creating Reflection, both Andrew and Shahar spent years serving in clinical, leadership, and executive roles across the mental health and substance use treatment industry. They worked inside some of the most respected organizations in the field, witnessing firsthand both the successes and the shortcomings of how families were included in treatment. Time and again, they were disappointed to see families offered little more than brief psychoeducation sessions and instructions to attend Al-Anon. While those supports have value, Andrew and Shahar knew from their professional and personal experience that families deserved—and needed—more. Families were being left behind, despite being the ones who often carried the weight of their loved one’s illness, and were rarely given tools beyond “wait and hope.” Ultimately, Andrew and Shahar made the decision to retire from their executive positions to pursue a vision that the industry had not yet embraced: a model that treats the family as the client, offers long-term recovery coaching, and professionally reintegrates loved ones back into their family system after treatment. A Personal Mission For Shahar, this work is deeply personal. Her own family was devastated by addiction and the tragic overdose death of a loved one. Stigma and silence prevented her family from talking openly about the problem or finding help. That lived experience gave her a conviction to break down stigma, speak boldly, and ensure no family feels as isolated as hers once did. Together, Andrew and Shahar pioneered Reflection’s family-reintegration model, creating a pathway for families to heal alongside their loved one rather than waiting passively for change. In their very first year, Reflection’s outcomes demonstrated the power of this approach: more than 90% of families they worked with had a loved one still sober six months after intervention. Our Offerings Reflection provides a full continuum of family-centered services, including: 1. Mental Health & Addiction Interventions Our professional interventionists are trained in all major models, including the Johnson Model, ARISE®,CRAFT, Invitational, and Systemic approaches. We carefully select the model—or combination of models—that best aligns with each family’s unique circumstances. Whether addressing severe depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or addiction as a coping mechanism for underlying mental health challenges, our interventions are designed to overcome resistance while maintaining dignity and compassion. 2. Family Recovery Coaching (Six-Month Program) Following intervention, families enter our structured six-month curriculum. This program addresses enabling, codependency, boundary-setting, ambiguous loss, financial boundaries, relapse prevention, and healthy communication. Families meet weekly with a coach, receive guided meditations and readings, and learn how to detach with love while maintaining connection. 3. In-Home Stabilization & Transport When a loved one is in crisis, Reflection provides safe, non-medical accompaniment to treatment. We work with families to coordinate logistics, reduce stress, and ensure a smooth transition. While we are not a medical transport service, our team is trained to provide calm, compassionate support during these critical moments. 4. Consultations & Education For families who are not ready for a full intervention, we offer consultation calls, coached family-led processes, educational workshops, and boundary-setting sessions. These provide immediate tools and clarity, giving families confidence in the steps they are taking. 5. Collaboration with Treatment Providers Reflection partners with a wide network of treatment centers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals. We facilitate transparent communication and encourage full release of information so that families remain informed and engaged throughout the recovery process. Interesting Facts Family-Owned and Operated: Reflection is one of the few intervention companies in the United States founded and run by a husband-and-wife team. Independent of Treatment Centers: We are not financially tied to any facility. Our sole commitment is to the families we serve. Multi-Model Expertise: Our interventionists are trained in all major professional models, giving us unmatched flexibility to design the right approach for each family. Pioneers in Family Reintegration: Andrew and Shahar designed and launched a family-recovery model that did not previously exist in the treatment field. Proven Results: In Reflection’s first year, more than 90% of families reported their loved one was still sober six months post-intervention. Dual Mission: Through both Reflection and the Family Recovery Foundation, we serve families across all income levels, ensuring that financial hardship never prevents someone from receiving help. Our Impact The impact of Reflection’s work is seen not only in the individuals who enter treatment, but also in the families who rediscover hope, healing, and unity. We have guided parents who felt powerless watching their child spiral, spouses who feared they had lost their partner, and siblings who carried silent burdens of guilt and worry. Time and again, families report that what they gained through Reflection was not just a loved one’s entry into treatment, but their own transformation: the courage to set boundaries, the freedom from enabling, and the confidence to reclaim peace in their home. Looking Forward Reflection Family Interventions is continually expanding its reach and refining its services. Our goal is to elevate the standard of care in the intervention field by promoting family-centered recovery as the norm, not the exception. We envision a future where every family confronting mental health or addiction challenges has access to both crisis intervention and long-term support. By remaining independent, family-owned, and rooted in integrity, we are committed to leading this change.
