Our company story began at the crossroads of passion and purpose. After years in product & engineering at clean-tech startups in San Francisco, our founder Eric Levenseller traveled the world in a search to find where his drive could make the biggest impact. Through travels in Paris, Croatia, Germany, Israel, India, Vietnam, China – one thing struck him. The idea that what you were using to get around had a direct impact on how beautiful the city was, and how much you saw of it. Scooters could be for sight-seeing in one place and then a necessity in another, where traffic was awful or cars were unattainable.
Unbeknownst to him, he was slowly building the concept for the company, until he visited Hong Kong, where Levy Electric was finally born. In 2018, the company located to New York City where the micro-mobility and transportation landscape had the most potential. Now, Levy’s flagship location in downtown Manhattan boasts a small but mighty team of 5, has almost 100 distribution partners, with sales across all of North America.
In addition to manufacturing lightweight electric scooters for personal use, the company also launched a peer-to-peer rental fleet platform, which allows independent operators to rent out their own scooters through Levy’s iOS and Android apps.
