In 1987, owner and founder of Benay's Bird and Animal Rentals, Benay Karp became one of the first-if not THE first solely woman owned animal training companies that has been providing trained bird and animal actors for the entertainment industry, working on hundreds of TV shows, commercials, movies live productions, advertising and more.

Although Benay and her trusted team of experienced trainers have worked with animals as small as ants, and as large as elephants (and everything in between) Benay is known as the first-and so far only known animal trainer to successfully train hummingbirds and woodpeckers for productions.
In addition, Benay’s also provide trained animals for weddings, advertising, parties, corporate/private events. We have even been a part of marriage proposals, weddings, gender reveals and baby showers. Some recent unique and fun event ideas have included-Elegant white or black swans to accent venue’s water features , beautiful flamingos, beer donkeys, and colorful parrots for fun themed events, foxes delivering proposals and invitations, Owls for period and Harry Potter themed events and horse and carriages to deliver brides to weddings.
Our fully (federal, state and county) licensed and permitted facility is conveniently located in beautiful Southern California, with affiliates and satellite offices across the country and contacts around the world.
In addition to offering our humanely trained animal actors (most of our dogs and cats have been rescued from high kill animal shelters) we offer both union and non union trainers and wranglers with decades of experience for hire as well.
