We're not a candle company. We're a home studio that happens to make candles (and a few other things you'll fall in love with). There's a moment, every single time I pour a fresh batch of wax, where the studio goes completely quiet. The fragrance hits the air, the wicks settle into place, and for about thirty seconds it feels less like work and more like watching something come alive. That's the moment Phoenix Crafted exists for. Not the sale. Not the shipping label. That moment — the one where a thing made by hand becomes a thing that's going to make somebody's house feel like home. If you've ever lit a candle and thought, "this just smells like a candle" — you already know why I started doing this differently. A real home studio, run by a real person Phoenix Crafted is based in McLeansville, North Carolina, and the studio is exactly what it sounds like — a space in my home where every candle, every wax melt, every diamond painting, and every custom frame is made by me, by hand, in small batches. There is no warehouse. There is no production line. There is no team of people I've never met pouring wax into a machine. When you order from us, the person who measures the fragrance oil, weighs the wax, sets the wick, trims it after it cures, inspects it under the light, and writes your name on the shipping label is the same person. That's me. Megan. Founder, chandler, framer, photographer, customer service, and — on busy weeks — the person triple-checking that your candle is centered in the box. That's not a marketing claim. It's just the truth of how a small studio works. And it's the reason I can promise things mass-produced brands cannot. What we actually make — and why each piece exists Hand-poured candles in three wax options: coconut soy, pure beeswax, or our signature coconut soy & beeswax blend. The blend is my personal favorite — coconut soy gives you the clean, even burn and beautiful scent throw, while beeswax adds that subtle, honey-warm character that makes a room feel softer. It's a small detail. Most candle drinkers won't be able to name it. But you'll feel it. Vessels for every kind of home. I built the lineup deliberately so you can match the vessel to the room: 4 oz travel tins for desks and powder rooms, 8-18 oz glass jars (clear or black matte) for living rooms and bedrooms, tealights and votives for dinner tables, and specialty pieces like our Heritage Heart Wooden Dough Bowls and Stonecrest Artisan containers for the spaces that deserve a centerpiece. Hand-poured wax melts for anyone who loves fragrance but doesn't want a flame — perfect for nurseries, offices, and homes with curious pets. Handcrafted diamond paintings, which surprises people. Yes, the same studio that pours candles also crafts diamond paintings, frame by frame, gem by gem. Each piece is finished, sealed, and ready to display — not a kit, not a project waiting for you to do the work. A completed piece of art. Custom framing for the diamond paintings and beyond. If you've ever finished a piece of art and then watched it sit in a closet because framing it felt like another whole project, I built this service for you. A custom order pipeline. Recently launched and one of the things I'm proudest of. If you don't see exactly what you want — a scent, a vessel, a frame style, a combination nobody else offers — you can start a custom order, and we'll build it together. Real conversations, real quotes, real one-of-a-kind pieces. The ingredient story most candle companies won't tell you I made a decision early on that I haven't budged on once: every candle Phoenix Crafted pours uses phthalate-free fragrance oils. No exceptions. Phthalates are a class of chemicals commonly used to make fragrances last longer and throw harder in cheap candles, and they've been linked to enough health concerns that I refuse to put them in something you're going to burn inside your home, around your kids, around your pets. The wax is just as intentional. Coconut soy burns cleaner than paraffin — no black soot creeping up your walls or your lungs. Beeswax is one of the few wax types that actually purifies indoor air as it burns, releasing negative ions that bind to dust and allergens. The blend gives you both worlds: the long, even burn of coconut soy and the air-cleaning, warm-glow character of beeswax. Cotton wicks for a clean, quiet burn. Wood wicks for the people who want that gentle crackle. Your choice — never a corner I cut. Scent design as a real craft This is the part of the business I genuinely nerd out about. The Phoenix Crafted scent library currently spans 75 fragrances across 11 families — fruity & berry, fresh & clean, herbal & green, gourmand & bakery, floral, woodsy, smoky, masculine, holiday, beachy, and seasonal limited editions. That isn't a number I picked to look impressive. It's the number it took to build a library where there is genuinely something for everyone — including the people who hate "candle smells." I formulate, test, and re-test every scent in the studio before it goes on the site. Some make the cut on the first pour. Some take five rounds. The ones that don't ever work — and there have been a few — never see the light of day. The Discovery Set was built specifically for the customer who wants to try before they commit to a full-size jar: three small candles, your scent picks, one box. It's the lowest-stakes way I know to find your signature scent. A founder who treats the small stuff like it matters A few things you might find interesting about how this studio actually runs: Every candle gets cured for a minimum number of days before it can ship, because a candle poured today and burned tomorrow doesn't throw scent the way it will after it's settled. Most companies skip this step. We don't. Every wick is trimmed by hand after the candle cures — not before, not by machine. Every product photo on the site is shot in the studio, by me, on the actual piece you're buying. No stock images. No staged pulls from Pinterest. The reason all of this is true is the same reason the business exists at all: when a thing leaves my studio with my name on it, it has to be something I'd be proud to give to my own family. Seasonal releases & the Bunny Egg story One of the small traditions I've started building is seasonal releases — candles that only exist for a few weeks a year. The Bunny Egg candle is the first of these: a soft, sweet, springtime-only scent that's only available from mid-February through early May, then disappears until the next Easter season. It's a tiny thing. But it's the kind of tiny thing that makes a small business feel like a small business — the kind where there are seasons, and surprises, and reasons to come back. There will be more of these. A few are already in the testing rounds for fall and winter. Why Phoenix I'll be honest with you about this part: the name "Phoenix" is personal. Anybody who has ever rebuilt something — a business, a life, a season they didn't think they'd come back from — knows what the phoenix means. This studio is mine. The work I put into it is mine. And every piece that leaves here is, in its own quiet way, a small reminder that beautiful things can come out of starting over. That's the spirit I'd love for you to feel when you light one of our candles, hang one of our framed pieces, or open a custom order box with your name on it. What you're really buying when you buy from Phoenix Crafted You're buying a candle made one batch at a time by a person who knows your name once you've ordered twice. You're buying a scent that was formulated, tested, and approved in a real studio — not licensed from a fragrance house and slapped on a label. You're buying ingredients you can read out loud without getting nervous. You're buying a small business that ships on time, answers its own emails, and remembers your reorder. And you're buying a piece of a story I'm still writing — one that I'd love to have you in. Thanks for being here. Light something warm today. — Megan Founder, Phoenix Crafted McLeansville, NC
