Hair Care Pages Have About Twice the Facebook Followers, but Social Brings Only 2% of Website Visits

Hair care Facebook Pages connected to Diib have about twice the followers of the typical page, yet social media brings the median hair care website only about 2% of its visits.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Hair care businesses tend to have a bigger Facebook audience than most small businesses, but that audience sends only a small slice of their website visits. If clients already follow you on Facebook, the bigger opportunity is likely turning those followers into website visits and bookings, not just adding more followers.

Diib can connect to a business’s Facebook Page and to its website analytics. That shows two different things: how big the page’s audience is, and how many website visits come from social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.

Hair care businesses stand out on the first. On the second, the gap is real but the numbers stay small.

What the data shows

Diib looked at aggregated data from Facebook Pages and websites connected to Diib over the 30 days ending October 18, 2026:

  • The median hair care Facebook Page (90 pages) had 1,157 followers, versus 600 for all 19,933 pages in Diib’s data. That’s about twice as many.
  • People also viewed those Facebook Pages about twice as often: a median of 80 page views in 30 days, versus 40.
  • On hair care websites (273 sites), social media brought the median site 2.2% of its visits, versus 1.1% for all sites. Twice the share, but still only about 1 visit in 45. Unpaid search brought the median hair care site about 23%.
  • This isn’t a one-month blip. Hair care’s median follower count was higher than the all-page median in each of the last 12 complete months (October 2025 to September 2026), between 1,137 and 1,178 versus 602 to 623. Social’s share of website visits was higher in every one of those months too: 2.1% to 3.4% versus 1.1% to 1.7%.

What this does and doesn’t tell you

This is aggregated Diib data from businesses that connected Facebook or website analytics to Diib, so it reflects those businesses rather than every salon or barber. The Facebook and website groups overlap but aren’t identical. One plausible reason for the bigger following is that hair is visual: before-and-after photos and styling videos give people a reason to follow. The data can’t show why people followed or whether followers booked. Some visits from social apps can also be recorded as direct visits, so the true social share may be somewhat higher than measured.
