Business Services Google Profiles Get Fewer Views but More Action

The typical business services Google Business Profile in Diib's data was seen about half as often as other businesses' profiles, but 15.6% of those views led to a call, website click or direction request, versus 13.1%.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Business services profiles reach fewer people, but those people act more often, likely because many already know the firm's name. Each view is worth more, so an outdated phone number or thin profile costs more than it would in a high-traffic industry.

Your Google Business Profile is the listing that shows up when someone looks you up on Google Search or Maps. Google counts every time it’s shown as a view, and every call, website click or direction request from it as an action.

For business services firms such as consultants, agencies, bookkeepers and staffing companies, those two numbers pull in opposite directions.

What the data shows

Diib looked at Google Business Profiles connected to Diib with at least 500 views between June 29 and September 26, 2026:

  • The median business services profile (427 profiles) was viewed about 990 times, versus about 2,050 for about 12,400 profiles in other industries.
  • But 15.6% of business services views led to an action, versus 13.1% elsewhere.
  • 32% of business services profiles turned at least 1 in 5 views into an action, versus 27% of other profiles.

What this does and doesn’t tell you

This is aggregated Diib data from profiles connected to Diib. Fewer views likely reflects how people find these businesses: often by searching for a specific firm’s name after a referral, not by browsing “consultants near me.” Those searchers already know who they want, which would explain the higher action rate. The data can’t confirm why people searched, though, or whether an action turned into a client.

The takeaway is that a business services profile tends to be seen by fewer people who are more ready to act. That makes the details on it, like phone number, hours, website link and reviews, worth more per view.
