Physical Therapy Google Profiles Get About 70% More Action Per View

In Diib's data, 24% of views on the typical physical therapy Google Business Profile led to a call, website click or direction request, versus 14% across all profiles. Physical therapy has come out ahead in every one of the last 12 months.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

If you run a physical therapy clinic, the people who find your Google profile are unusually ready to reach out, and many of them pick up the phone. A missed call, wrong number or outdated hours costs you more here than it would in most industries.

Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears when someone finds you on Google Search or Maps. Google counts each time it’s shown as a view, and each call, website click or direction request from it as an action. Divide actions by views and you get an action rate.

Physical therapy clinics turn views into actions much more often than most local businesses.

What the data shows

Diib looked at Google Business Profiles connected to Diib over the 30 days ending October 17, 2026:

  • The median physical therapy profile (76 profiles) had an action rate of 24%, versus 14% for all 20,235 profiles in Diib’s data.
  • This isn’t a one-month blip. Physical therapy’s median action rate was higher than the all-profile median in each of the last 12 complete months (October 2025 to September 2026), ranging from 18% to 27% versus 11% to 20%.
  • Phone calls play a bigger role. Among profiles with at least one action, calls made up about 14% of the typical physical therapy profile’s actions, versus about 3% for other profiles, where direction requests dominate.

What this does and doesn’t tell you

This is aggregated Diib data from profiles connected to Diib, so it reflects those businesses rather than every clinic. A likely explanation is intent: people searching for physical therapy often have a referral, an injury or an insurance question, and want to call or book soon. The data can’t confirm why people acted, or whether a call or click became a booked appointment.

What it does show is that a physical therapy profile tends to reach people who are ready to make contact, so the phone number, hours and booking link on it carry more weight than they would for a typical business.

YOUR NEXT STEP

One action worth taking

Call the number on your Google Business Profile from your own phone during business hours to make sure it reaches a person or a voicemail that sets a callback. Then confirm your hours, accepted insurance and booking link are current.
