Zarastro Art

The platform has a unique online exhibition format and careful curation process. It is committed to presenting compelling physical and digital works to a community of international art lovers.

Founded in May 2022, Zarastro Art is driven by two values. The first is a commitment to painstaking curatorial practices. The second is a commitment to diversity. Zarastro Art lives up to these values by collaborating closely with culturally diverse artists who utilize a broad range of media to explore vital contemporary themes.

Zarastro Art’s team and artists harness the potential of digital media to communicate bold visions and rich, nuanced narratives. The platform strives to cultivate the spirit of lovingly curated exhibitions by contextualizing them with curatorial texts, artist statements, revealing interviews, and any other means by which artists choose to tell their stories.

Zarastro Art has recently announced its collaboration with Jan Tichy, an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist based in Chicago renowned for his socially and politically engaged conceptual artwork. On view through December 1, 2023, the multimedia exhibition seeks to reexamine form through the artist’s evocative exploration of light, architecture, and objects.

Working at the intersection of photography, video, and sculpture, Tichy has developed a formal and minimalist visual language that deals insightfully with crucial contemporary themes including secrecy, uncertainty, and the interplay between the seen and the unseen.

Portals of Form displays photograms and etchings that capture the motion of architectural structures, photographs with unexpected juxtapositions, screen prints featuring geometric patterns, cyanotypes examining the connection between nature and politics, and figurative video works exploring the human condition.

After graduating from the Musrara School in Jerusalem and the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Tel Aviv, Tichy obtained his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Photography. His work is included in collections at such prestigious institutions as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, and the Spertus Institute in Chicago.

Traversing themes and mediums, Zarastro Art’s previous exhibitions also featured a global cross-section of established names:

Liminal Space delves into life and death. With his paintings and videos, Jaan Toomik highlights the majesty inherent in the inevitability of this cycle, revealing beauty in the spontaneity and randomness that arises throughout our human journey.

Through a collection of photographs, videos, and sculptural work, Coalescing with Nature manifests the simultaneous fortitude and fragility of nature as Antti Laitinen dismantles terrestrial elements into new forms.

Cultural Threads presents video works by Nancy Atakan. The exhibition takes a closer look at specific activities that challenge our understanding of acceptable participation in cultural practices and redefines ideas of women’s work.

Curated under four sections that manifest the zeitgeist, To Be Good and To Live collects sixteen photographs captured across different periods and cities during the past two decades of Ferhat Özgür’s career.

The Many Faces of Transcension is an NFT collection by Kübra Cenk Uslu that explores the ebbs and flows of the connections between human beings and the natural world.
