About the owners, Clair Letton and Jesse Marshall. Clair and Jesse met in Brighton in 1998. They both hold art degrees (Clair in Fine Art Print Making, Jesse in Sculpture). They moved to Fiveways in 2006 with their son and went on to have two more children. If you have ever visited The Brighton Festival Artists’ Open Houses in Fiveways, you may remember The Cake House, the “pop-up” shop and café run by the couple and exhibiting the work of local artists (as well as serving teas and some of the prettiest cakes you will have ever seen).

We stock unique toys and gifts from top brands sourced from toy fairs, artists, designers & sustainable businesses from across the world in our Brighton toy shop. We have a wide range of nostalgic and rather unusual toys, books, pocket-money treats, cool retro toys, and gifts including 80’s favorites my little pony, pound puppies, care bears, and more. We hope you like them as much as we do! We’re always pleased to help you find the perfect toy or gift.

We specialise in retro, design-led, quirky, and quality toys and gifts aiming to provide great, value for money and quality offering to their customers, whatever their budget. We source stock from designer brands, local artisan makers, and overseas. The type of collectible, eco-friendly toys and sustainable toys you don’t tend to see in big high street toy shops. Our much-loved toy shop was founded in 2001 and has a loyal following among the families of Brighton and Hove.

We stock some great educational toys and arts & craft kits. The whole ethos of the place is to sell toys that stimulate the imagination and if possible teach the kids something. The prices start from an allowance friendly fifty pence to well into the £50 mark for some of the more elaborate sets of Lego and Sylvanian Families.

The entire Wigwam team, all have creative backgrounds, and this impacts our buying decisions and the way that we merchandise and present the goods to customers. We appeal to consumers through the shop itself, which is very colorful with a great sense of drama and theatre. I think people enjoy the experience of shopping with us as we think carefully about every element, from the music we play to the colors in the store. The launch of our website has also enabled us to reach a broader range of customers and we are pleased to see ongoing growth in this area.

In terms of our current best-sellers at Wigwam, Toys the retro my little ponies, Jellycat soft toys, and Care Bears from Basic Fun have been flying off the shelf Pokémon is also a regular staple alongside Sylvanian Families play sets and Djeco Arts & Crafts.
