It is hard for people to find a good therapist and unfortunately, there are several contributing factors to that. All of our clinicians have worked in hospital settings. And we’ve all been to a hospital for something small and ended up getting gouged by their bill. Hospital billing structures are out of control and there is no real reason aside from having a captive audience. They do the same to their mental health clients. This is exactly why the government at the federal level, enacted the No Surprises Act. We keep our prices transparent with our clients and we don’t force relationships. Each clinician gets to decide if the relationship with the client is a good fit. In most practices, they don’t let clinicians make that kind of decision because that’s lost revenue for the owners. Another factor that sets us apart is that we pay our clinicians well above what they were making in their hospital settings. Most hospitals take advantage of clinicians when they first graduate from college with their masters degrees or higher. They know these new graduates need a job immediately to start paying on those student loans in addition to their other bills. Meanwhile many of them are unable to make ends meet financially because they are paid so low. They burn out and leave a vital career field. As the owner, I have a conversation with each employee and ask them what they want to make now, and where they want to be. I get them not what they need but what they want. I plan on my employees making this a career at TheraFi so I show them that I care by investing in them from the start… not dangling a carrot in front of them and change the goal line for them every time they hit said goal. And we still manage to keep our prices up to 75% less than our direct competitors.
