Main Services
The Square Peg is a family owned business in Moranbah, Central Qld. Jim and Fiona (Founders) have resided in Moranbah for 21+Yrs. During this time, their children attended the local primary and high schools. The children also played sports at a school representative level and became members of several local sports clubs. Jim and Fiona's grandchildren are also attending the local schools and enjoying sport through the schools and club membership. The business was purchased back in 2008 and was a trophy/award and engraving store which was called Hi-Dip Trophies. There was also a range of picture frames, engravable items like pewter mugs and some camping products. We had recently purchased a laser engraving machine when the business came up for sale and thought, why not? Since then, we have been providing quality products to our community for 18 Years, grown from a 1 person undertaking to a 6 person small business and now operate out of a 400+sqm location. We no longer sell picture frames or pewter mugs, however we still provide trophy and awards and laser engraving and have dramatically increased the variety of outdoor/camping products that we stock. When trying to figure out what to stock, we thought to ourselves, what do people need in the town that they have to go to Mackay for? (Mackay being 200km away) Using this strategy, we began to stock the following: Homebrew, Food Smoking Products, Key Cutting, Western Clothing/Apparel and accessories (Pure Western, Wrangler, Thomas Cook, Bullzye), YETI products, Rugged Extreme, Ammunition, Crocs. When our local Target store closed down in 2021, this then provided another opportunity for us to stock everyday clothing items. We purchased VALA Clothing, a local weekend/market business. This then allowed us to expand the brand of clothing/apparel and accessories that we stocked. We currently stock the following brands: *Pure Western *Wrangler *Thomas Cook *Bullzye *Milton Mango *Victor Bravo *Dick Togs *Faire & Dinkum *Frothies *Eve Girl *St. Goliath Boys *St. Goliath Mens *Sunnyville *Silent Theory *Animal Crackers *UGG We pride ourselves in exceptional products and service. We donate to many local sporting clubs and fundraising initiatives, including Australian and Global campaigns. We are especially excited about our support to the local Junior Rugby League Club as 2026 will be our 3rd year of supplying every U6 player with their own headgear. The Square Peg is now on it's next growth chapter as we opened an online store in July 2025.
