The Cultivated Space

I would often rearrange my parent’s house to create a better flow. At the time, I had no idea why I was driven to move our furniture; I just knew it would feel better. Friends and family began regularly borrowing me to lend my keen eye to their projects. I rearranged rooms, purged clothes, helped round out purged wardrobes, and planned major home overhauls. I have always been passionate about creating soothing spaces that function well. Still, I never thought I could do this for a living. In 2019 I decided to turn my hobby into my full-time career, and The Cultivated Space was born.

I believe the quality of our spaces significantly impacts our overall well-being. It is challenging to focus and feel inspired in a space bogged down with unfinished tasks and excess clutter. Even when we aren’t consciously thinking about our cluttered closets and countertops, our brains still carry the burden of those unfinished tasks through our day-to-day activities. When our spaces feel overwhelming, it creates a constant static in our minds. This background noise makes it challenging to focus and prioritize our other responsibilities. As we refine our spaces, that static subsides and brings a greater sense of calm. We can think more clearly and have more headspace to focus on what is truly important to us. Our time is so precious; we deserve to focus on what matters most.

In this age of social media, many of my clients feel a deep sense of shame about their homes not matching up to the images they see online. Our homes are sacred and should be a source of solace, not shame. As we improve the space and design of our homes, we feel a greater sense of pride and confidence that carries through in all that we do. Most of the time, a few minor shifts to the flow of the home bring an immediate sense of relief. The more comfortable you feel in your space, the easier it becomes to function. An incredible momentum comes as we release the burden from our homes. I have seen clients undergo amazing transformations as we improve the feel of their space.

My natural knack for design and creating efficient systems helps me transform clients’ homes and businesses into productive, comfortable environments. Nothing is more rewarding than helping another person create a more enjoyable space and find their unique aesthetic. I support clients from every walk of life. I am experienced in helping people with ADHD, and executive function issues develop personalized plans to help them find greater control over their spaces. I pride myself on being judgment-free and creating customized solutions for each client based on how they actually live their lives, not a predetermined aesthetic.

The Cultivated Space provides on-site and virtual organizing, design, and re-styling services. Personal shopping and product sourcing services are also available. Consultations are free. Hourly rates include taking one load of donations per visit and providing links to custom storage solutions or furniture options for consideration to complete a space. I am also available with aftercare support as you adjust to your new space.
