Our founder Jessica Knott developed Swanky Recipes out of a hidden and natural talent. Self taught in photography and culinary, she developed a large following on several different social media platforms. Her focus is not to brag about her recipes but share them with people of all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether you are making your first Thanksgiving dinner for the family or making a meal for a special someone, we have recipes and tutorials to help you make your meal extraordinary. Our slogan is “tasty everyday meals for the home cook” and that is exactly what we have been delivering since the beginning.
From Our Founder:
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I moved to New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA) in 2013 and have been here ever since. I am in love with the culture, cuisine and southern hospitality Louisiana has to offer me. I am obsessed with tacos, cheese, and cupcakes and I adore the Green Bay Packers! I am an animal lover and have had yellow labs my entire life. I am a relative of Laura Ingalls Wilder and Charles Ingalls.
I started this blog out of a passion for documenting my culinary adventures in the kitchen. I enjoy baking on a sunny day in my kitchen developing recipes and adapting old family favorites. Baking for the holidays with family and friends is something I look forward to most in life. I have fond memories of helping my mom in the kitchen when I was a little girl even if it was just adding the flour and butter to the mixer. My mom was the best baker I knew growing up. We would often bake a recipe a night starting after Thanksgiving in preparation for holiday parties soon to follow. This would amount to dozens of cookie recipes that would be frozen for all the holiday parties.
This blog has allowed me the opportunity to overcome so many kitchen feats. From frosting my first layer cake to learning to make easy weeknight meals, I have learned how to utilize my time in the kitchen. I am forever learning new skills and creating recipes to share on my blog. I have met some amazing bloggers and have connected with readers throughout the world and have worked with brands I’ve always dreamed of.
