Squire & Squire Photography

I enjoy all aspects of photography, and in the time I have been a photographer I have worked on many interesting projects and for prestigious clients.

The business has evolved over time, but my attitude and care for delivering a good quality service has not diminished.

The photography side of the business was slow to take off, the UK was in a recession at the time and of course it takes time to build a business. In conjunction with photography, I was also in a business called Dataq Technologies flying the first commercial drones.

In 2011, I was one of the first people in the UK or in fact the world to gain a commercial licence to fly drones granted by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, I was the seventh pilot no 007. At the time we were flying on contract for the Health & Safety Executive, the drones of back then were very expensive, delicate, and has very basic GPS lock functions. We had to estimate the remaining flight time via battery voltage readings and warm the batteries if the weather was cold. Set the cameras up manually and keep a firm eye on the craft to make sure it did not blow away in the wind, there was no return home button like modern consumer drones. It was fascinating but quite stressful, especially if working in central London, as we were often for high-end estate agency clients.

As consumer drones rose, the market for drones became much more crowded drone photography moved into the background, my focus has since been on wedding and portrait photography for the public and working for other business on a commercial basis.

My studio is located at 1 Market Place in Warwick, overlooking historic Market Place. I have lived within five miles of Warwick my whole life, it’s a pleasure to be located in an historic old Town was all its history and pubs! (pubs for afterwork). The studio is cosy, with white and grey backgrounds, I also have a stock of other backgrounds plus many lighting set-ups and furniture to complement photoshoots.

My main drive in photography is meeting people and capturing them via photography. I also enjoy commercial photography, such as photographing products for businesses in my studio. Lifestyle product photography and headshots for companies and business people. Restoring old photographs is another service I offer, I find it very interesting as an insight into the past.

I am also an experienced Wedding Photographer, I like to capture relaxed documentary style photography. I have worked at many venues around the Warwickshire area. I know the area very well, which comes in useful when planning engagement shoots and outdoor family photoshoots.

I see myself as a general photographer, I don’t specialise in any particular area, but I do have a lot of experience and I always strive to do the best I possibly can. I am known for created relaxed style photography, for me when photographing people the most important part is to try to capture a moment rather than creating highly posed scenes. Although, there is always a scene setting aspect to photographing any subject, the most important aspect for me is to consider the subject first.
