The Siontis Athletics story began in 1974, when a footballer not just of any local club, but of the renowned Olympiacos and PAS Giannina, Giorgos Siontis, alongside his dedicated wife, envisioned more than just a business. They dreamt of a legacy.
The Inception: In 1974, Ioannina witnessed the rise of its very first specialized sports store, pioneered by the Siontis family. This wasn’t just a novelty for Ioannina but stood as one of the pioneering ventures in the whole of Western Greece.
First Expansion: The Siontis name quickly became synonymous with quality and service, leading to the opening of our first subsidiary just three years later in 1977.
Relocation and Recognition: By 1980, with ambition in our hearts, we moved to a new proprietary location at the heart of the market. In no time, this outlet became not just a store but a landmark – the most updated sports store in Ioannina and the broader region of Epirus, an accolade it proudly holds to this day.
Enter the Second Generation: As we entered the 90s, a fresh wind blew – the second generation of the Siontis family took active roles. They saw beyond sports, diving into the realm of casual fashion. This foresight led to the establishment and operation of three new stores by 2002.
Innovations and Collaborations: By 2004, “Sportzone” was launched. Our relentless pursuit of excellence caught the attention of giants. In 2008, we fortified our collaboration with the market leader by opening the NIKE STORE in Ioannina. This was closely followed by the launch of the BODY ACTION store in 2010.
Exclusive Ventures: 2012 marked a milestone with the creation of an exclusive ADIDAS STORE. This was paralleled with the introduction of the SIONTIS OUTLET, expanding our offerings further.
Digital Footprints: By 2013, we embraced the digital age wholeheartedly by making significant strides in e-shopping.
A New Dawn: 2014 was transformative. We expanded our flagship store into a sprawling 400 sq.m. megastore, segmented distinctively for men, women, and children. Our commitment to experience saw the entire space being revamped, creating a concept store that was nothing short of a marvel, setting pioneering standards for Greek retail.
