The head sports therapist and clinic owner, Ian Wrightson, graduated from London Metropolitan University in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy. Since then he has worked with patients from all walks of life, including many high performance, elite, and professional athletes, including both summer and winter Olympians. He has a special interest in lower limb movement mechanics in relation to walking and running gait, as well as cycling biomechanics. With a background in collision sports, the shoulder is also a source of interest for Ian. He also sees his role as that of an educator, helping patients/athletes/coaches/managers/parents understand the exact details of the injury or dysfunction.

As a team of skilled musculoskeletal therapists, our sports therapists assess, treat and rehabilitate muscle, bone, joint, ligament and tendon injuries in or out of a sport and exercise context with the goal of restoration of good principles of movement and function. This is underpinned by knowledge of biomechanics within both a specific joint movement and a global movement context. With a sports science knowledge base developed during their degree programme, our team become the link between the different departments of a multidisciplinary team due to their broad understanding of physiology, coaching methodology, strength and conditioning and nutrition. We work closely with the strength and conditioning team at our HQ in Advance Performance, Guildford, to form a multidisciplinary sports performance team, working with elite and professional athletes, as well as providing a nurturing environment to help everybody form a positive relationship with exercise, regardless of their pre-injury exercise status.

seventy9 Sports Therapy provides sports therapy services to patients from all walks of life, regardless of their sport and exercise level.
