Richard Boll Photography

Before that, I studied fine art photography at Edinburgh College of Art and then taught the technical aspects of photography there between 1999 and 2004. I offer portrait, product, and lifestyle photography to the editorial and commercial markets. I also offer corporate photography and carry out a range of personal photography projects.

Career highlights include winning multiple international photography awards including the National Portrait Gallery’s Photographic Prize. In 2007 I was commissioned to take a portrait of Sir David Attenborough, a portrait which is now part of their permanent collection.

I pride myself on the high standard of imagery I produce for my clients, from the planning stages to final image optimisation and delivery. I’m passionate about image-making and am equally adept in the studio or on location.

I’ve always loved photography. It’s been a passion of mine since I was 16 years old. I knew then that I wanted to become a professional photographer and make photography a part of my day-to-day life.
Why do I love it? It’s a very effective, creative tool for expressing yourself and creating a permanent record of your life, significant events, and people. I love the variety of my work and enjoy experiencing different situations and environments, meeting interesting people on a daily basis, and creating wonderful opportunities to travel.
After graduating with an Honours degree in Photography, I was lucky enough to realise my dream
and turn my passion into a rewarding career. For the past 18 years, I’ve been commissioned at home and abroad by many household brands such as Sony, Land Rover, eBay, Emirates, and Marks & Spencer, working in a wide variety of photography fields including:

• Still Life
• Product
• Advertising
• Editorial
• Brand
• Corporate Headshots
• Lifestyle
• Portraits

If you want to update the visual direction or brand identity of your well-established business, you need fresh, original, and professional photographs of the highest quality taken by an expert to reflect that new direction and elevate your brand even further.
High-quality images will firmly establish your already successful business as an inspirational and
aspirational leader in your field. Any photographer you commission will bring their own aesthetic style, technical methods, and overall look to your brand photographs.
A new vision will be attached to your imagery that has a stamp, however subtle, that comes from
that photographer. Therefore, who you choose as your professional photographer will have a direct impact on how your brand is presented.

I personally pride myself on a diligent and conscientious approach to my art.
Paying meticulous attention to detail, I will listen carefully to what you want as a client and can stick to a brief.
At the same time, I’ll add into the mix years of experience, technical expertise and my own creativity and input to every project.
The final product then becomes a perfect blend of your prescribed planned ideas with my creative input, resulting in images that we can both be proud of.
