Pivot Marriage and Family Therapy

Our goal is to help people in relationships be seen, heard and understood and located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Pivot Marriage and Family therapy is the only counselling office focusing primarily on couples counselling. Over 90% of clients are couples. The founder Michael Velecky has a specialized Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. This degree focuses on the systemic impact that family members have on each other. Additionally, Michael has taken specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (E.F.T.). He has completed the externship and the core skills training within the E.F.T. training community.

Pivot Marriage and Family Therapy are passionate about helping couples navigate complex relationships that impact a person’s mental health, physical health, and life satisfaction. Building stronger, healthier relationships that buffer against stress rather than adding to it. Michael has seen great success with his couples as they move towards a healthy relationship where both partners can be understood, and each partner learns to care for the other. This type of relationship leads to better mental health, physical health and a close connection with our partner, where we feel genuinely connected to and cared about by our partner.

The content seen at Pivot includes explosive fights, withdrawn couples, Affair and infidelity recovery, poor communication, Alcohol Recovery, Drug recovery and working with couples who struggle with physical violence. Also, working with parents to learn parenting skills, how to support their children (especially when it is hard to do so) and working with families struggling with challenging behaviour.
