I have worn many hats in this life and find that my art and photography is a reflection of the wide variety of life experiences I have live so far. For example; I am an Eagle Scout, I lifeguarded for three years, I hold six college degrees, and speak proficient Spanish. I was a critical care nurse for 8 years, I am a father, an art teacher, a nurse educator and was a truck driver for sometime. I was a warehouse janitor, I’ve run a couple of 30 mile ultra-marathons, and as a nurse, I have comforted and cared for thousands of critically ill patients. I am a photographer, a psychonaut, an outdoorsman, a translator, and a devoted husband.
My current focus in art is drawing abstract and map drawings using markers. My unique drawing style is rooted in meditation, mindfulness, connection, and the idea of flow. I recently published a coloring book for adults designed with the intention of stress reduction and mindfulness as one colors the pages in the book. My work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with the most recent art exhibitions being in San Francisco, California, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as well as a publication within an art magazine in the United Arab Emirates.
My current focus in photography is creating a new genre described as “trail-running-photography.” I strap a large fuji camera to my chest and run up and down the mountains adjoining the city of Reno. I have clocked over 2400 miles since starting this venture in 2021 and have taken, in my opinion, some great photos of where I live and run.
