More Than Grand, LLC

The resources and products we offer improve communication between generations, help set healthy boundaries, and equip new grandparents with the tools they need to become a supportive partner to their grandchild’s parents.

Founder DeeDee Moore is the mother of four and grandmother of three. Her twenty-plus years as a military wife taught her that she can do anything she sets her mind to, so when she became a grandmother and couldn’t find a website with the kind of resources she wanted, she started one.
DeeDee founded More Than Grand as a way to share inspiration and resources for grandparents who understand the importance of their new role and want to create strong bonds with their grandchildren.

We want all grandparents to become MVG’s: Most Valuable Grandparents. Research has shown that grandparents are an important source of support and stability in a child’s life. More Than Grand is dedicated to making sure that grandparents are able to fulfill that role while maintaining healthy boundaries and loving support for parents. Family conflicts usually start with small misunderstandings, so we focus hard on clear communication between parents and grandparents.

One happy customer shared: “More Than Grand is a great resource for grandparents. I have learned so much and particularly agree with the reminders to not overlook and to continue to show love and provide support to the new parents. This seems so intuitive as we’ve been loving our kids for years, but this reminder keeps us focused on loving those who made us grandparents.” 💜 Grandma Sue

Our grandparenting blog focuses on what new grandparents need to know. We cover topics that matter to grandparents – and parents – such as concrete ways to help new parents, understanding new trends in child care, and meaningful ways to connect the generations. We work with parents to make sure we are covering the issues that they want grandparents to know about, from body autonomy to hospital etiquette for new grandparents. There’s a wide range of subjects: Some of our popular blog posts include what to do if you think your grandchild is in danger, how to write letters to your grandchild, and why grandparents give too many gifts.

Our signature guide, New Grandparent Essentials, is the only comprehensive digital course for new grandparents on the internet, and has helped families across the world navigate this new stage in life. Other products include Grandparent Love Letters, a set of printable templates to help you know what to write in a letter to your grandchild each month of the year, and the Family Child Care Agreement, which heads off potential conflicts by setting clear expectations on both sides when grandparents provide regular child care.

Whether it’s how to announce the birth of your first grandchild or ways to support expectant parents, we’ve got the information new grandparents need. Visit our website, blog or social media to find out why grandparenting isn’t about spoiling the grandkids anymore. Parents welcome!
