Our approach isn’t about endless sessions with no clear progress—it’s about providing practical tools and strategies that make a tangible difference in the real world. We understand that men often face unique challenges when seeking help, including societal pressures to “tough it out” and limited spaces that cater specifically to men’s mental health needs. That’s why we’ve built a practice that focuses on providing solutions that work, delivered in a supportive, no-nonsense way.
Momentum Counselling specializes in addressing issues that deeply impact men, including relationship repair, unwanted sexual addictions (like pornography addiction), and trauma processing. Whether it’s rebuilding trust in a marriage, breaking free from a destructive habit, or overcoming the lingering effects of past trauma, we’re here to guide men toward growth and resilience.
Our Founder’s StoryShaun Morrison, the founder of Momentum Counselling for Men, brings a unique combination of skills and life experiences to his practice. As an RPC-C, Shaun is not only a talented and enthusiastic counsellor but also someone who has walked the path of personal and professional growth himself. Before pursuing his passion for helping others, Shaun earned his Red Seal Journeyman certification through NAIT, a testament to his hard work and dedication to mastering his craft. However, his journey eventually led him to his true calling: helping men break through barriers, heal from their pain, and step into a better version of themselves.
Shaun’s expertise is rooted in advanced trauma education, making him uniquely qualified to help clients process and recover from the most complex issues. He’s trained in the Flash Technique, a powerful method for trauma healing. Shaun’s understanding extends to nonviolent communication and relationship dynamics, giving clients the tools to rebuild healthy, meaningful connections in all areas of life.
Our Unique OfferingsMomentum Counselling for Men goes beyond traditional talk therapy. We provide a focused, effective approach designed to empower men to take action. Some of the key services we offer include:
Trauma-Informed Counselling: Trauma often lies at the root of many struggles, whether it’s addiction, anger, or difficulty maintaining healthy relationships. Our trauma-focused methods help clients process and heal from their experiences so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Support for Unwanted Sexual Addictions: Men struggling with pornography or other sexual addictions often face shame, secrecy, and difficulty finding support. At Momentum Counselling, we offer a judgment-free space to unpack these challenges and develop healthier coping strategies and habits.
Relationship Repair: We understand how challenging it can be to navigate conflict in relationships, especially when communication breaks down or past mistakes cause a rift. Our work focuses on fostering healthier communication, repairing trust, and rebuilding connections that matter most.
Short-Term, Results-Oriented Therapy: We’re not here to keep clients in therapy forever. Our goal is to equip men with the tools and strategies they need to see real change in as few sessions as possible. Therapy should feel purposeful and productive, not like a never-ending process.
Tailored for Men: Our practice is built with men in mind. We recognize the societal expectations, pressures, and unique experiences that men face, and we’re committed to providing a space where men feel understood, supported, and challenged to grow.
Why Momentum MattersThe name “Momentum” reflects our mission to help men build forward progress. Life can feel stagnant or overwhelming, but with the right guidance and tools, it’s possible to regain direction and purpose. By focusing on action-oriented strategies and fostering emotional resilience, we empower men to build a solid foundation for lasting change.
Momentum Counselling for Men is more than just a counselling service—it’s a movement toward a healthier, more authentic way of being. We’re here to help men overcome obstacles, break unhealthy cycles, and become the best version of themselves, not just for their own benefit, but for their families, relationships, and communities.
