Hope Integrative Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

Unlike traditional psychiatric and psychotherapy practices that often focus solely on symptom management, medication, and long-term therapy, integrative psychiatry and integrative psychotherapy aim to address the root causes of mental health issues to provide a pathway to mental health recovery. A range of therapeutic modalities are incorporated, including psychotherapy, nutrition, mindfulness, and lifestyle changes, to provide a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan for each individual. Integrative psychiatrists and psychotherapists view their patients/clients as unique and whole beings, taking into account not only their mental symptoms but also their physical health, emotional state, and, at times, spiritual needs. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of the individual’s mental health challenges and promotes long-term healing and resilience. Holistic psychiatry and psychotherapy align with the belief that true mental well-being emerges when all aspects of a person’s life are in balance. Our services are individualized to best address each person’s unique conditions, needs and circumstances. All parts of who we are are relevant, including genetics, temperament and our early childhood environment, our current lifestyle and the vision we have for a full and meaningful life. Most symptoms of mental illness are expressions of disconnection from our bodies and emotions, love and community, or meaningful values leading to unresolved trauma, grief and moral injury we hold in our bodies and express in our lifestyle choices. In this new paradigm we are not fated to our genes or our life experiences. At any age we can change our own nervous system’s resilience and tendencies through self empowerment techniques so natural, authentic and complete recovery is possible. Drawing from various wisdom traditions and scientific theories, we emphasize the importance of community in achieving holistic well-being. Humans are naturally inclined to live in “bands” of 20 to 25 people, as this is the number of individuals one can instinctually trust. Within these small communities, individuals can achieve a state of “cosmic consciousness,” where they can hold the self within the whole framework. We recognize the concept of “cosmic consciousness,” a state of being where individuals can hold the self within the whole framework. Richard Maurice Buck wrote about the evolution of human consciousness. According to Buck, figures like Jesus, Buddha, and Moses were not unique individuals but embodiments of the next stage in human development, which is cosmic consciousness. We will encourage you to embark on self-exploration to help you identify areas where you are disconnected from your authentic selves. We may ask you to write down your thoughts in response to various prompts, focusing on disconnection from your authentic self. This exercise is a starting point to begin the journey toward holistic well-being. At Hope, we offer a fresh perspective on healthcare, challenging the conventional focus on symptom management and promoting a more holistic, community-based approach. By committing first to our own self-care and integrity, we will be prepared to guide you on your journey to complete mental health recovery. We believe you can achieve a state of cosmic consciousness through community and connection, transcending the crisis of meaninglessness and achieving holistic well-being.

By encouraging you to adopt a bottom-up approach to health and wellness, focusing on community and connection, we can address the root cause of illness and help you achieve a state of holistic well-being.
