Company founder, Michael Gesmond, discovered pool building at the early age of eight when he would sit on his father's lap in their excavator while his father dug holes for new pools.

This continued for many years, but as Michael grew he was given new responsibilities, which provided him plenty of opportunities to learn every aspect of pool building, along with the virtue of producing quality work.
After high school, Michael decided to move to Charleston, South Carolina to begin Heritage Pools. He began working multiple jobs while installing vinyl pool liners out of the back of his Honda.
Heritage Pools has now grown into a 50+ employee business and a Top 50 Builder and Service provider in the US. It offers luxury concrete, fiberglass and the exclusive Heritage I-beam vinyl pool specifically designed for the unique ground features of the Lowcountry. Heritage Pools has also won Luxury Pools and Outdoors Spaces’ Integrated Design award, plus 38 other awards over the years. Along with new pool construction, Heritage Pools also offers maintenance, service and renovation.
