We are a privately held professional services, software consulting, and contract management software company.

Fun factoid: Great Minds Software was founded by Alan Mazursky. He ran a consulting practice serving the investment and merchant banking community. A construction project manager, who was doing extensive work for KKR and Henry Kravis, approached Alan one day and asked if he could help his wife who ran a law department at a large pharmaceutical company. She was having some computer software and cost issues. As it turned out, the company was running a mainframe computer to keep track of their contracts. The cost was huge. She was wondering (1) if it could be done much better and (2) if it could be done much less expensively. Cue the smile…

The answer, of course, was “Yes!”. So, from converting a mainframe system to a PC platform, we realized that there were likely more companies that could use something like this. Many more! An idea was born! And that brings us up to today–over three decades!

We have taken the approach that while there are common themes in contracting, it is not necessarily one size fits all. So, we have spent literally decades listening to our clients, improving our products and services over time, over multiple technologies and platforms, and languages. The results include specialized features for different industries, from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to telecom, entertainment, manufacturing, and government.

We exist because of, and for, our clients. This reminds me of the JetBlue commercial “If it wasn’t for our passengers, we would just be flying planes full of empty seats!” It’s true!

What makes GMS special is our mission to improve our clients’ abilities to manage an increasingly large and complex workload, provide an interesting, stimulating, and healthy experience for their staff and create innovative, engaging, and interesting products. We have extensive experience in training and supporting contract management users on a global scale.

So, here’s the business bit: Our product is called Contract Advantage. It is actually a line of products and modules that support different levels of sophistication in contract management. Some large companies like to keep it simple…and some small companies like to go all in and get the most out of the tools that they can use. We don’t presume that it all needs to work the same for any given client. And we have been right over decades of experience.

We have what you would expect of any good contract management software product to offer: a central document repository, automatic email alerts, contract authoring and assembly, a contract request portal for business users, contract approval workflows, digital and electronic (and manual!) signatures, full-text search of documents, document versioning, history trails, and robust, deep security. Oh…and so much more…outside counsel tracking, contract invoice and payments tracking, accounting, self-service portals, DocuSign integration, Amendments tracking, user-controlled customizations, user experience control, real estate features, asset management features, litigation support. Oh, yeah, we got that, too!
