Which first opened in November 2019 by two friends and proud long-time local residents of the Church and Wellesley Village. We love Toronto and wanted to bring something new to our neighbours and friends. We are an ever-evolving store with carefully curated collections, of apparel and living wares.
Your outfit is your introduction. We want to help you do it BIG. At Grapefruit our customer focused approach is a return to classic retailing. Our store has a welcoming vibe and we do our best to make everyone feel comfortable and confident while shopping. These days distinctive clothing is not easy to come by. We are bombarded with the same style of clothes in every mall we go into. At Grapefruit, we’ve curated a dynamic and exciting collection of fashion. And we only carry items in small quantities, so you don’t have to worry about going out for the evening and seeing your new shirt on a dozen other guys. That also means if you see something you like, you better pick it up, because it may not be there tomorrow.
We are often asked “why Grapefruit?” A grapefruit, known historically as the ‘forbidden fruit’ and given our location in the heart of Toronto’s Church and Wellesley village this is a very relatable moniker. In someway it is a means of taking back these words and using them for our own LGBTQ+ community. Using it to create a community space for all that focuses on empowerment, diversity and inclusivity. A space for all people with quality products that are accessible to the mass market. And we are not just clothes, we have fun housewares, personal care products, fragrances, sunglasses and other fun stuff like puzzles and current sought after party games.
