Fitzgerald HR

In 2008, Lucy Fitzgerald started freelancing as an HR Consultant in North Devon, England. In doing so, she quickly realised that there was a gap in the market for outsourced hands-on HR support. When looking for an HR Consultancy to partner with, organisations had limited choices.

They could opt for a large call-centre that offered unlimited legal advice and templates but no hands-on, tailored solutions.

Alternatively they could choose a specialist organisation to help with one area of HR, such as pay and benefits, or an organisation development initiative. This meant HR solutions lacked a joined up approach to the organisation’s overall HR strategy.

Finally, they had the option of working with a freelancer who was usually a generalist HR provider, lacking the specialist skills required for full delivery of the HR strategy.

Lucy saw that SMEs needed the skills and experience of the HR teams that only the largest organisations could afford. She set about building Fitzgerald HR, a Full-Service HR Consultancy that provides the full spectrum of HR solutions required across the employee life-cycle.

Growing organically, Fitzgerald HR was put together service by service and now provides an exceptional HR team to businesses of all sizes. SMEs, and corporates, can join Fitzgerald HR as a member, paying a small monthly membership fee. They can then tap into the HR solutions when needed, from day to day HR advice, to specialist organisation development initiatives.

Today, the company provides HR services to businesses throughout the South West and the the South East through an experienced team of HR generalists and specialists. They have a huge range of clients, from organisations like the Natural History Museum and Amnesty International, to the small, independent cafes on the high street.

Their founder’s passion for helping all organisations to grow through their people has stayed with the business as it has grown.
