Thats how its started. A dream, a name, an idea, a side project for a couple that was looking forward for a change of itself and everyone around them. A green change.

Ecognito was founded at Thessaloniki, Greece in December of 2019 as mentioned, as a side project. A purely zero-waste ecommerce store, when the term zero-waste was an unknown word to the largest portion of people in Greece. Operated like that for almost one year, mostly focusing at selling alternative everyday use products like bamboo toothbrushes, plastic-free deodorants, bamboo coffee cups, plastic-free household and utility products, vegan and plastic-free soap bars etc.

Since then it evolved and we evolved with it, to be able to cover a larger variety of customers and products. We now operate under a large “green umbrella” since all of the brands and products we stock fall under at least one of the major green ethic categories like vegan, plastic-free, cruelty-free, reusable, zero-waste, low-waste and sourced locally or within Europe.

Nowdays items we sell vary from skincare products like eye cream upcircled from coffee beans sourced in UK coffee shops and vegan, cruelty-free cleansing balm from women owned business in Poland.

Bodycare products like body lotion with naturally sourced herbs from the greek islands and shower gel from Netherlands based on green soap.

Haircare products from France for fighting hair-loss only with natural ingredients and hair conditioner bar from a small local producer here in Thessaloniki.

Personal and oral hygiene products like active charcoal vegan toothpaste from Germany and plastic-free deodorant cream from UK.

Woman hygiene alternatives like a period cup from the biggest brand All Matters or 100% cotton period pads from a Greek woman manufacturer.

Household items like surface cleansers with zero toxic ingredients and revolutionary products like Ecoegg that changes forever the way that you wash your clothes.

Those are some products of the large variety we stock nowdays. It keeps growing and evolving us we discover new brands and products that fit our mindset.

Also since the beginning we focused in zero-waste packaging for all the orders. We our proud for achieving 100% plastic-free packing till today.

Our focus remains the same since day 1. We strive to inform, educate and give people of Greece the easiest way to choose more eco-friendly alternatives from the most ethical and well known brands from whole Europe. And of course to keep changing ourselfs and everyone around us the green way.
