Earring Holder Gallery was launched in 1996 by Barbara Downey who was tired that her earrings seemed to be scattered all over the house.

She needed a solution….and fast.
At first her efforts weren’t a commercial venture at all, but before long her friends were asking for one of Barbara’s special earring organizers and she was invited to sell at a local craft show. One show led to the next and as she refined her craft and improved her presentation she began to be accepted into many of the top Art & Craft Shows in the eastern US.
In 2002 husband David joined in and the Earring Holder Gallery became the family business.
The thing that makes these earring holders so special is that they are made from fiberglass screen and each handpainted piece becomes a work of original functional art. Patterned after the American Folk Art of screen painting Barbara’s earring hangers are miniaturized versions of the famous Baltimore painted screen doors and windows of the early 20th century.
