The founders are Leah Fletcher & James DeMello, a husband and wife Irish-Canadian team.

The idea for deDANÚ was born shortly after their son, Jack, while Leah & James lived in Vancouver, BC. They set out with a goal to create a no-nonsense wellness brand supported by science, marrying Canadian wellness industry experience with Ireland’s rich agricultural resources. deDANÚ designs beautiful plant-based skincare, pure essential oils, seasonal blends, diffusers, candles and innovative beauty tools.

In Irish mythology, Danú is the most ancient of Celtic gods, the mother of all other gods and of all the Celtic people, representing the earth and its fruitfullness. She is the ‘mother goddess’, said to have nursed Ireland’s bravest family of warriors, ‘Tuatha De Danann” giving them immortal strength, wisdom and courage. Early morning mists rolling over Irish landscapes are said
to be the loving embrace of Danu herself, comforting those rising early to work the land.

The name ‘deDANÚ’ means family of Danú, which we celebrate through our offerings of carbon friendly skincare products, sourced responsibly from mother nature to nurture mind, body and soul.

deDANU has grown to be female founded, leader in cruelty free, natural wellness and self-care products, emphasising carbon – negative principles,
scientific research and clinically proven efficacy. All deDANÚ skincare is free from artificial fragrances and ingredients. All deDANU essential oils are pure and laboratory tested. deDANÚ diffusers are designed and manufactured using sustainable sustainable materials.

deDANÚ makes choices at every stage of cultivation to ensure the products you use in your home and on your body are free of allergens, unnatural chemicals and fragrances, toxins, carcinogens, fillers, or genetically modified
ingredients.

deDANÚ’s offerings are scientifically formulated and sustainably manufactured in the heart of Ireland using only whole plant parts and innovative active plant extracts, including cannabinoids derived from hemp.

deDANÚ offers a luxurious experience, engaging the senses and balancing the body, bringing us back to rituals and methods used for millennia by our matriarchs.

Our team at deDANÚ, formulate, manufacture and distribute all products in our state-of-the-art facility in the Irish Midlands. We implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at each stage of our production processes to ensure the highest quality products and the cleanest environment possible. Every single ingredient is carefully assessed for both quality & environmental impact.

We are dedicated to ensuring our products are multi- purpose, functional and effective. We conduct clinical case-studies in collaboration with experienced occupational therapists and skincare experts to measure results and report findings from participants using our products. Our focus is not only on general skin health but on chronic skin conditions negatively that impact people’s lives.

We understand the science behind sustainability and have our farmers grow plants that sequester carbon from the atmosphere.
deDANÚ packaging is amber recycled glass and we use circular manufacturing processes only. We minimise our carbon footprint in shipping and distribution through centralising all activities through our location in Ireland. We are constantly striving to improve our processes and work closely with environmental consultants so as to keep up with best practice.
