My mural business is the result of decades of artistic practice, design experience, and a deep understanding of how environments shape the way people feel, behave, and connect. Rooted in over 20 years as a professional mural artist—and with creative foundations stretching back even further into interior design, sales, and marketing—I bring together artistry and strategy in a way that few mural practices can. At its core, my business exists to transform spaces through paint. Not decoration for decoration’s sake, but considered, site-specific artwork that responds to architecture, purpose, and people. Every mural begins with listening: to the client’s story, the history of the building, the function of the space, and the emotional response they want to evoke. From there, I design and paint murals that feel both timeless and meaningful, enhancing spaces rather than overwhelming them. The majority of my work is commercial, with around 70% of projects created for councils, offices, hotels, pubs, restaurants, care homes, hospitals, and schools. These are often large-scale environments—ranging from intimate feature walls to expansive projects of up to 250 square metres—where durability, clarity of vision, and professional project management are as important as artistic skill. I am comfortable working within operational buildings, alongside contractors, and within tight schedules, delivering work that is reliable as well as beautiful. My commercial clients are typically established, successful organisations, particularly within the leisure and tech sectors. They come to me not simply for a mural, but for a visual statement—something that reflects their identity, celebrates their success, and communicates values such as creativity, wellbeing, and connection to place. My background in marketing allows me to understand brand narratives instinctively, translating abstract ideas into visual language that resonates with staff, visitors, and customers alike. Alongside this, around 30% of me work is for private clients. These projects are often deeply personal: murals created for homes, gardens, studios, and special spaces where clients want something unique and emotionally grounded. Many of my private clients are older (typically 50+), environmentally aware, and drawn to nature, gardening, and the outdoors. They may not be artistic themselves, but they appreciate craftsmanship and authenticity. I guide them gently through the process, helping them articulate what they love and turning that into artwork that feels both personal and enduring. Stylistically, work my is diverse. I paint landscapes, highly stylised designs, and everything in between, adapting my approach to suit each brief and surface. I am equally skilled in painterly, atmospheric murals and crisp, graphic compositions. This versatility allows me to work across many sectors and settings, from calming nature-inspired murals in care homes and hospitals, to bold, celebratory pieces in pubs, restaurants, and corporate spaces. In addition to murals, me business offers specialist decorative finishes. I am highly experienced in faux finishes such as faux marble, stone, and wood, bringing traditional techniques into contemporary settings. These finishes require a high level of technical skill and patience, and they allow me to create the illusion of materials that would otherwise be impractical or prohibitively expensive. I also undertake mural restorations, carefully repairing and reviving existing artwork with sensitivity to its original style and intent. What truly distinguishes my mural business is the depth of experience behind it. I began me career as an interior designer in the 1980s, developing a strong understanding of space, proportion, and how colour interacts with architecture. In the 1990s, I worked in sales and marketing, gaining insight into client relationships, communication, and the commercial realities of running a successful business. These skills now underpin my mural practice, allowing me to bridge the gap between creative vision and professional delivery. As the owner, designer, and artist, I oversee every stage of each project. Clients deal directly with me from initial concept to final brushstroke. This hands-on approach ensures consistency, accountability, and a personal level of care that larger studios often cannot offer. It also allows for flexibility and responsiveness—essential qualities when working in real-world environments were conditions can change. My murals are not trend-driven. While I remain aware of contemporary design movements, my focus is on creating work that will age well. Many of my clients are investing in their spaces for the long term, and I respect that by producing artwork that feels grounded, thoughtful, and enduring rather than fleeting or fashionable. Beyond commissioned work, me business also has an educational and community-focused dimension. Much of my work is co-produced with the students, patients or community using the space daily. I host a podcast where I speak with established artists across disciplines, sharing honest conversations about artistic success, techniques, challenges, and personal journeys. This reflects my belief in generosity within the creative community and my commitment to supporting other artists. Ultimately, me mural business is about more than paint on walls. It is about storytelling, atmosphere, and transformation. Whether working on a public building, a commercial interior, or a private home, I approach each project with curiosity, professionalism, and respect—for the space, for the client, and for the craft itself. The result is artwork that feels considered, connected, and quietly confident, created by an artist who understands both the poetry and the practicality of murals.
