Describing Central Vermont Auto Mart, I’d say this first: we’re a local, family-run dealership that believes trust still matters, and that how you treat people is just as important as what you sell them. Our roots here in Vermont go back a long way. The owners of our dealership group grew up in Bradford, Vermont, and today our General Manager, Jessica Gore, lives in Orange. That matters to us, because it keeps our business grounded in the communities we serve. We’re not a corporate operation trying to look local — we are local. Between ownership and management, we bring decades of experience to the table. Our Dealer Principal has more than 35 years in the automotive business and has spent much of that time involved in leadership and consumer advocacy roles. He’s served with both the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Vermont Auto Dealers Association, including time as Chairman and Treasurer, and he’s also served the public through Vermont’s Lemon Law arbitration board. That background shapes how we operate every day. Fairness, transparency, and accountability aren’t buzzwords for us — they’re habits. Jessica Gore runs our day-to-day operations and brings over 20 years of hands-on automotive experience. She’s also a graduate of the NADA Dealer Academy, which is one of the most respected training programs in the industry. What that means for customers is simple: things run smoothly, questions get answered honestly, and no one feels rushed or talked down to. We want people to feel comfortable from the moment they walk in. At our core, we believe in three things: telling the truth, offering good value for hard-earned money, and treating people with friendly, respectful service. That combination is what turns first-time buyers into long-term customers. We’re not interested in quick wins or one-time transactions. We want to build relationships that last for years. One thing that really sets us apart is our selection. Because we’re an independent used car dealership, we’re not tied to one brand. We carry a wide variety of makes and models — cars, trucks, and SUVs — which gives our customers real choices. Instead of trying to fit someone into a vehicle we happen to have, we focus on finding the right vehicle for their needs, lifestyle, and budget. Our background as former franchised dealers for brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Hyundai gives us a strong foundation in understanding quality and long-term ownership, and we bring that knowledge into how we select our used inventory. Financing is another area where we try to do things differently. We work with multiple lenders and help a wide range of customers, including first-time buyers and people who’ve had credit challenges in the past. We treat financing as a service, not a pressure point. We explain options clearly, set realistic expectations, and focus on long-term affordability. Our goal is for customers to understand what they’re signing and feel good about it, not overwhelmed or rushed. We’re also a full-service dealership, which means our relationship with customers doesn’t end when they drive off the lot. We offer maintenance, repairs, and Vermont state inspections, and many of our customers come back to us year after year. Our service department is staffed by highly trained master technicians, and we put a lot of effort into communication. Customers deserve to know what’s happening with their vehicle and why. We’ve also created a clean, comfortable waiting area with amenities, because we know service visits should be as stress-free as possible. Being part of the community is important to us, too. Over the years, we’ve been a major sponsor of the Saint Shuffle 5K Run/Walk supporting a local Barre elementary and middle school. During severe flooding events in Vermont, we’ve served as a collection point for essential supplies to help neighbors in need. We don’t see community involvement as a marketing tool — it’s simply part of being a responsible local business. At the end of the day, Central Vermont Auto Mart is about people. We believe that honesty, value, and friendly service still matter, and that if you focus on doing the right thing, customers notice. That’s how we’ve built our business, and it’s how we plan to keep serving Central Vermont for years to come.
