Camp Sequoia

Camp Sequoia is a residential summer camp in Pennsylvania designed for intelligent kids and teens who benefit from explicit support with social skills, emotional regulation, and everyday independence. It serves young people who fall between a traditional overnight camp and more intensive therapeutic programs—campers who are capable, creative, and curious, but who may struggle with peer relationships, frustration tolerance, and the “hidden rules” of social life. Camp Sequoia combines the fun, challenge, and variety of a classic camp with intentional structure and coaching that help campers build and sustain real friendships.

A defining feature of Camp Sequoia is that social skill development is embedded throughout the entire day. Rather than limiting growth to a single counseling session, trained staff coach campers in real time during activities, meals, residential life, and downtime. Using consistent language, predictable routines, and a high staff-to-camper ratio, the program focuses on social cognition—reading cues, taking perspective, managing emotions, and choosing responses that keep relationships intact. Technology-free by design, the camp encourages face-to-face interaction and repeated practice in the moments where challenges naturally arise.
