We also provide Cancer Education, Cancer Coaching and we have cancer support groups. Our founder Catharine Janssen is a retired critical care Registered Nurse, breast cancer survivor, an active Rotarian, and a Distinguished Toastmaster, and now a Certified Cancer Coach. Catharine is also the owner of BRACAShirts (Designed for women to manage post-surgical drains). Our customers love our Bracashirts shirts with Outside pockets which are designed to help the care givers to have easy access to empty the drains which is ideal in the first week immediate post-op. Our Bracashirts Inside Pocket shirts are designed to hide the drains and provide discreet support when out to medical appointments or when out in public. BRACAGowns are ideal for immediate post op and for evenings. The drains are secure in the pockets and allow for immediate post op ambulation. Security at night as the drains are secured in the large pockets. Bracashirts are ideal for post mastectomy and post abdominal surgery patients who have surgical drains. Safety, comfort and fashion are also important, so we provided shirts that are colour fast, don’t shrink, perfectly tailored and beautifully embroidered.

This last year Bracashirts committed to our clients education and coaching support. Despite Covid our founder Catharine Janssen has taken the opportunity to enhance her nursing education, as a Certified Holistic Cancer Coach. Catharine has spent years teaching and training critical care nurses and decided to take the opportunity to help cancer patients to learn more about cancer prevention, adopting lifestyle changes, and empowerment through knowledge so that patients feel in control and confident to advocate for their care. Catharine believes that Knowledge is Power and has the mandate to Educate to Advocate. .

Catharine has combined her nursing education and her IT education to develop a Cancer learning series with PowerPoint presentations. We are excited to share and further develop the knowledge of our clients. Catharine believes that “Knowledge is Power” which will lead to sound decision-making and help clients making informed decisions that will guide them through establishing and adopting healthy lifestyle changes through out their cancer journey and across their health care continuum.

Bracashirts believes that cancer coaching is front and center in supporting cancer care. Complementing BRACAShirts branding. Our commitment is to support client education, empowering our clients to advocate for themselves by supporting them in their proactive approach to decision making. Knowledge is Power.

Our education series and supportive coaching are designed to move you through the cancer journey with confidence in healing and adopting lifestyle changes. Cancer coaching is patient-centric and unique for every client. We all have different experiences and challenges. We are here to support and help clients through their changing life journey, care requirements, educational growth, and healing needs. As clients gain health and balance in their lives we enjoy witnessing their proactive and healthy changes as they advocate for their health and wellness. ​

Catharine has been delivering her Cancer Education Series and Cancer Awareness speech in southern Ontario, online with Healing Strong( the #1 US cancer support network), she also provides presentations for Surviving Breast Cancer Canada. Catharine also does speak to service groups like Rotary, Lions, Optimists, Probus etc. Our Education Series is free of charge but I do ask for donations to promote fund raising so that we can continue to teach across Canada and the US.
