We shape the bodies, necks, and frets using various wood types such as Ash, Mahogany, Spalted Maple etc and then pair them with components. We shape to standard spec allowing customers to finish (paint and seal etc) their own guitar and make a guitar that is truly unique.
Blackbeard was founded in South Africa in 2012 with the vision to bring quality, custom instruments to all musicians.
The founder of the business relocated to Australia and in 2023 he decided to re-launch the business from Sydney, Australia whilst also sending inventory to of course South Africa and also the United States.
