Better Smiles Dental Care was established in 2002 in the rapidly growing New England coastal town of Portsmouth, NH. Back then as is now as we see the next generation of our patients, our vision was to establish our roots and grow with the community in a measured pace so that we can maintain our personal connection with each patient through the years that you won’t necessarily find in corporate chain dental offices with rapid patient growth. Better Smiles Dental Care is not a revolving door of dentists and staff. We have a spacious, airy, clean and modern office with up to date technology yet we keep our team small and tightly knit. This allows us to better know our patients closely and recognize them the moment they walk in or call. Continuity of care is also assured when staffing is small and consistent; we pick up right where we leave off from the patient’s last visit however long that may be.

We fully utilize digital technology to make the patient experience as efficient and convenient as possible. All Protected Health Information are paperless (digital) and secure and allows our patients to request access to their health records fast and easy. Real time insurance look up, billing and expert know how allow us to better estimate insurance benefit coverage or non-coverage and provide a close to or exact out of pocket expense calculation. Digital technology also allows us to take radiographs (X-rays) with as little radiation exposure to the patient as possible by utilizing fast digital sensors to capture X-ray images. Documenting a series of intraoral digital photographs from each patient is the norm at our office to facilitate a patient’s understanding as they are shown pictures of their dental condition from the dentist’s clinical perspective and then given an explanation as to why the treatment is proposed. We use digital dental scanners to take impressions of the patient’s tooth to make same day crowns or crowns made in one dental visit.
