Bax Botanics VERBENA 500ml , It’s time to awaken the senses with this bright, herbal non-alcoholic spirit. Bax Botanics Verbena is a multilayered drink that acts as the perfect pre-dinner aperitif or refresher on a warm summer’s day. Layers of vibrant Seville orange, a warmth from smooth Mediterranean herbs balanced with the soothing brighter note from Sea Buckthorn. “These flavours de-stress me at the end of the day” says Rose, “the long finish is like a good quality gin.” Be sure to try Sea Buckthorn with a zesty orange peel & tonic first, before exploring further within cocktails. Between them they have over 30 years experience of teaching and consulting to the food industry, focussing on delicious and exciting ways to use botanical ingredients and culinary herbs. They are now using all their skills and experience to distil these secret recipes of herbs, roots, berries and flowers and create alcohol-free spirits with layers of beautifully complex flavours.
Bax Botanics spirits are proudly designed by nature and pay homage to the ingredients used. From sourcing organic & ethically grown botanicals, to using sustainable & recycled materials during production, everything is designed by nature with the idea of inspiring connection with the natural world. Heck, so much so that the design of the label is a microscopic image of a plant stem!
The story of Bax Botanics starts with our founders, Chris the Chef and Rose the plant expert. When they first met, they’d bond over the beauty of the natural world with Rose sharing her knowledge of the plants they’d find whilst out walking. ‘They’re all very pretty, but can I eat them?’ Chris would ask. A little research later, Chris found himself with
a whole new cupboard of ingredients to play with in the kitchen. Nature had begun to inspire Chris’ cooking in
a whole new way.
Then came time to put down some roots, and the couple bought themselves a woodland, as you do. It was in this woodland that they began running outdoor courses to
‘Taste the Wild’. The courses covered foraging & cooking wild plants, all with the aim of inspiring guests to find a deeper connection with nature.
Rose & Chris would showcase the various ways of harnessing and celebrating the unique flavours of their woodland through both food & drink.
Many guests would drive to the woodland due to it’s middle-of-nowhere nature, and so the drinks would be inclusively non-alcoholic. It was within these first drinks that the idea for Bax Botanics was born.

Our production process starts with the raw ingredients, and all of the botanicals we use are ethically sourced
and organic. We first connected with the natural world through sustainable foraging, but to move into creating our non-alcoholic spirits at scale we couldn’t continue to forage in a sustainable way. This is why we make sure to source our botanicals from trusted partners using ethical farming methods. We only ever use real botanicals.
Both of our non – alcoholic spirits, Verbena & Sea Buckthorn are made at our Distillery and are intended to do what we’ve always wanted to do, inspire people to connect with the flavours of nature.
