Apothecary started as an add-on to a wellness clinic gesund located in downtown Toronto.

Dr. Peter Tebruegge, RMT, ND, the owner of gesund and both a Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Massage Therapist wanted to offer more to gesund patients and visitors. He developed his Naturopathic background while studying in Europe, Canada and Australia creating a deep understanding of natural products and their benefits. This began a journey of discovery for Canadian-made natural products like those found around the world.
Peter and his team searched through Canada, visited many fairs and exhibitions and found great independent one-of-a-kind Canadian brands manufacturing all-natural personal care products and more. Today, Apothecary proudly features over 20 Canadian brands producing all-natural personal care and aromatherapy products. Most of these brands manufacture their products by hand in small batches to guarantee always fresh and high-quality products.
From our humble roots of providing our customers with natural products we loved from other makers, we launched our own Apothecary House Brand. While developing this line of candles, sprays, soaps and the like, we sourced from the top Canadian manufacturers in Toronto, the GTA and across Canada to provide only the best for you. In 2023 we have expanded again to offer more great care for you. Apothecary is now providing facial skin care services with certified skin specialist estheticians under the guidance of licensed Naturopathic Doctors.
