Why blog? It’s a great question. A little over two years ago, I was working in municipal government, managing summer camps for my hometown of Newmarket, Ontario. If you had asked me 2.5 years ago if I’d be working in SaaS sales and scaling an affiliate marketing blog on the side, I probably would have told you to seek professional help.

Longer team, I’ve dabbled in many side hustles, including music production, being a stagehand (for The Weeknd, Sam Fender, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Backstreet Boys & more!), working in a retail music store, streaming video games on Twitch, making videos on YouTube, starting an Ebay thrift-shop flipping store, and more. I’ve failed many times and learned a lot along the way!

My aim with this blog is to take all of those learnings and leverage one of my strongest skills, writing, to become a topical authority within the business software/technology niche, to help people make intelligent decisions when purchasing software, and to ultimately help them make more money through their own websites. I want to take my learnings from all of the different ventures I mentioned previously and pour my heart and soul into this website to prove to myself that I can monetize it and make it succeed.

Longer-term, I also want to help people who are thinking of starting a blog or an affiliate marketing business get started, and (more importantly) succeed, and then find a way to get back to music production, leveraging the personal brand I’ll have built with this website somewhere along the way.

My past ventures & blogging have allowed me to connect with so many amazing people, especially in the music production world. Everyone I’ve met or read about has taught me something, and I want to do the same for others – I view blogging as my way of achieving this.

It’s something that I love to do, and sharing my experiences with others is my way of paying it forward.

I created this blog with four main goals in mind:

– I want to document my journey in monetizing this blog, share my learnings & failures, and help others win with me along the way.
– I want to share my story about how I transitioned into tech sales in under two years from a completely different industry, with the goal of providing guidance on how to make such a transition & influencing others to do the same. Because working in tech sales is the best.
– I want to share my growing knowledge of SaaS BDR & Sales skills with the world to provide actionable prospecting and selling tips that anyone can quickly and successfully implement in their SDR/BDR/AE job.
– For now, I’m putting my music production dreams on the back burner. Once I build this blog to a certain magnitude, I plan to evolve it (and my brand) into pursuing my dream of becoming a music producer.

A few personal bits: in my spare time, I enjoy playing hockey, running, going to the gym and listening to music. I have a 5-year-old bichon-poodle named Casey that I absolute adore.
