Teak New York

It was founded by Caitlin Maestrini, an American woman who lives in New York City. While traveling throughout Europe to visit countries from her heritage, she landed in Oslo, Norway, and fell in love with the city, its people, and the design heritage. Since then, Caitlin has visited all of the Scandinavian countries in search of good food, great conversation, and cozy design.
Teak New York brings the best of Scandinavian design to NYC where the apartments are small and the people are in a rush. Teak is aimed at making apartments into sanctuaries. Caitlin believes that all people should build a home that makes them comfortable and happy. With all of the chaos of the city, an apartment is the one place that we have control over. Danish design focuses on hygge, the feeling of coziness, concentrating on soft blankets, lots of pillows, warmth from candles and fireplaces, and enjoying a good book. While this may not be for everyone, Scandinavian style is also focused on minimal aesthetic and the purity of materials which anyone can enjoy and appreciate.
