The Square Peg is a family-owned business proudly serving Moranbah in Central Queensland. Founded by long-time locals Jim and Fiona, the business has grown alongside the community for more than two decades. Originally purchased in 2008 as Hi-Dip Trophies, a small trophy and engraving store, it has evolved from a one-person operation into a thriving six-person business operating from a 400+ sqm premises. While still specialising in trophies, awards, and laser engraving, The Square Peg has expanded its offering to include camping and outdoor gear, homebrew supplies, food smoking products, key cutting, ammunition, YETI, Rugged Extreme, and a wide range of western and everyday apparel. Driven by the simple idea of stocking what locals would otherwise need to travel 200 kilometres to Mackay for, the store continues to adapt to community needs. Following the closure of Moranbah’s Target in 2021, The Square Peg expanded further into clothing, acquiring VALA Clothing and introducing brands such as Pure Western, Wrangler, Thomas Cook, Bullzye, Milton Mango, Victor Bravo, Dick Togs, Faire & Dinkum, Frothies, Eve Girl, St. Goliath, Sunnyville, Silent Theory, Animal Crackers, and UGG. Known for exceptional service and strong community support, the business proudly donates to local sporting clubs and fundraising initiatives, including supplying headgear to every U6 Junior Rugby League player. In July 2025, The Square Peg entered its next chapter with the launch of its online store.
