Main Services
Health & Happiness: Counselling and Wellness (HHCW) is a full-service psychotherapy practice committed to providing realistic, compassionate, and evidence-informed mental health care. Founded in 2019, HHCW was built on a clear philosophy: therapy must be grounded in real life, not confined to textbook or overly simplified solutions. From the beginning, HHCW’s approach has emphasized practicality, clinical integrity, and human connection. While psychological theory and research remain essential, meaningful therapeutic change only occurs when those frameworks are translated into strategies clients can genuinely apply. At HHCW, we know psychotherapy is about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate their unique challenges with clarity, resilience, and realistic tools. HHCW was established by Kevin Greene, the Clinical Director and a Registered Psychotherapist who previously spent more than 15 years in corporate technology sales. After achieving sustained success and receiving multiple top performance awards throughout his sales career, Kevin made the deliberate decision to return to school and retrain as a therapist. His transition reflected a values-driven shift away from a profession defined primarily by revenue targets toward work focused on human wellbeing, personal growth, and community contribution. HHCW itself was created as an extension of that vision — a place where the goal is to help people try to feel better. When asked what he does for a living, Kevin typically will say that his job to help people find ways to be happier! Since opening its doors, HHCW has grown into a trusted and thriving psychotherapy provider serving a diverse client population. The practice offers individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, play therapy, and specialized parent coaching services, supporting clients across developmental stages, relational dynamics, and concerns. Individual therapy at HHCW addresses a broad range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions. Clinicians draw from an integrative blend of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Positive Psychotherapy, EMDR, and other clinically appropriate frameworks. Rather than adhering rigidly to a single model, therapists tailor interventions to each client’s goals, experiences, and real-world circumstances. This is because no single approach was designed with any specific patient in mind. Couples therapy focuses on communication patterns, conflict dynamics, emotional disconnection, trust repair, and relational resilience. HHCW clinicians commonly employ structured, research-informed approaches including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These modalities combine insight, emotional processing, and practical skill-building designed to strengthen understanding, connection, and long-term relational stability. Family therapy supports families navigating tension, transitions, behavioural concerns, parenting challenges, and intergenerational stress. Therapists apply systemic and relationally oriented frameworks that explore patterns of interaction, roles, and emotional communication within the family unit, fostering healthier dynamics, clearer boundaries, and improved mutual understanding. Play therapy provides developmentally appropriate mental health support for children. Using play-based, expressive, and attachment-informed techniques, therapists help children process emotions, develop coping skills, and improve behavioural regulation. This modality recognizes that children often communicate experiences symbolically rather than verbally. Parent coaching is another cornerstone of HHCW’s services. Recognizing that parenting challenges are deeply personal and highly contextual, therapists provide realistic, supportive, and adaptable guidance. Sessions commonly address behavioural concerns, emotional validation, boundary setting, communication strategies, and caregiver stress. HHCW intentionally rejects one-size-fits-all parenting prescriptions, instead helping caregivers develop approaches suited to their family’s unique dynamics. A defining characteristic of HHCW is its unwavering commitment to realism. Therapeutic work emphasizes what is achievable and sustainable within the realities of clients’ lives. Strategies are designed to function within genuine constraints — professional demands, family responsibilities, and personal stressors — rather than idealized conditions. HHCW’s team consists of highly trained, professional, and compassionate therapists representing a range of clinical backgrounds and specialties. Each clinician brings advanced education, supervised experience, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Beyond credentials, HHCW prioritizes empathy, ethical responsibility, and respect for client autonomy. Passion for the work remains central to HHCW’s culture. Mental health care is approached not as a transactional service, but as meaningful, purpose-driven work. This philosophy extends internally, where therapist turnover has remained low, reflecting an emphasis on professional collaboration, collegial respect, and an amazing team dynamic. Since 2019, HHCW has operated as an in-person practice while also offering virtual therapy services. This dual model provides flexibility and accessibility. Over time, HHCW has supported clients locally, across provinces, and internationally, with many individuals seeking out the practice specifically for its grounded and realistic therapeutic approach. Education and mentorship are also integral to HHCW’s identity. The practice has welcomed graduate-level interns, providing supervised clinical training opportunities for developing therapists. This commitment reflects a broader dedication to strengthening the profession and contributing to high standards of ethical, competent care. HHCW continues to evolve while remaining anchored in its founding principles: realism, compassion, professionalism, and integrity. The work is guided by the understanding that therapy is not about quick fixes or idealized transformation, but about meaningful, sustainable change grounded in the realities of human life.
