Craig McGibbon Ltd – Gardens with Passion Craig McGibbon Ltd – trading proudly under the ethos of Gardens with Passion – is a Hertfordshire-based, garden design and APL-accredited landscaping company creating bespoke outdoor spaces since 2004. Founded by Craig McGibbon, an experienced designer and hands-on landscaper, the business brings together creativity, craftsmanship, and care to shape gardens that are not only beautiful, but deeply personal and enduring. We specialise in full-service garden design and build, meaning we guide each client from the first design consultation to the final planted border — and beyond, with aftercare and seasonal support. Our projects range from compact terraces to sprawling family gardens, crafted with an understanding of how people really use their outdoor spaces: to relax, to entertain, to play, to grow, to escape. We don’t just draw plans and drop them off. We build what we design — and we do so with precision, pride, and personality. The attention to detail in our stonework, the elegance of our planting palettes, and the seamless way each garden connects with the client’s home and lifestyle is what sets us apart. Our design style is both structured and natural, rooted in the landscape and shaped by the people who will use it. We love materials like Corten steel, natural stone, timber, and textural perennials, and we balance architectural features with soft, sensory planting that changes with the seasons. But beyond materials and methods, what really sets Craig McGibbon Ltd apart is how we make people feel. Every garden we create is built around the emotional and practical needs of the family or individuals we work with. Whether it’s a tranquil garden for a couple seeking sanctuary, a multi-zone retreat for an active family, or a sustainable garden designed by clients who work in the environmental sector, our role is to listen deeply, imagine boldly, and deliver faithfully. We’re also proud to be different in the way we work seasonally. While some landscapers wind down in autumn, we don’t fly south with the geese — we build all year round. That means our clients who plan ahead get to enjoy their gardens from the very first warm day of spring, rather than starting the process late and missing the best months. Craig himself began his landscaping journey over two decades ago, combining a background in design with a passion for working outdoors. His team shares that same ethos: they are professional, punctual, highly skilled, and committed to excellence. Most of our work comes from referrals and returning clients — a testament to the relationships we build and the results we deliver. Some interesting facts: We’ve worked with homeowners across Harpenden, St Albans, Welwyn Garden City, Hitchin, Shenley, Kimpton, Stevenage, Royston, Radlett, Hertford and the wider Hertfordshire area. Our gardens often include unique features like curved natural stone terraces, firepits, Corten steel edging, garden gyms, play zones, and wildlife planting. Many clients return for additional phases or the occasional aftercare We’re frequently told how the garden has changed their lives - they love it! Our garden concepts are known for their creative flow — spaces that feel purposeful, personal, and alive. We're Accredited Members of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), which reflects our high standards and ongoing commitment to the industry. Ultimately, we’re more than just landscapers. We’re place-makers. We design and build outdoor spaces that are rooted in purpose, shaped by passion, and built to last.
