PGTAA – Learn to teach Golf -Professional Golf Teachers Association of America

If your goal is to become a highly skilled, successful golf instructor—not just a player—then the PGTAA is the gold standard.

Unlike the PGA, which is primarily focused on club management and tournament operations, the PGTAA is 100% dedicated to teaching the game of golf. That singular focus makes a world of difference in the real-world success of its graduates.

Here’s why the PGTAA stands out:
✅ Pure Teaching Emphasis: Our curriculum is designed exclusively to develop elite golf teachers, covering advanced swing mechanics, player psychology, communication skills, and real-world coaching techniques. No merchandising or club repair courses—just teaching mastery.

🎓 Accreditation and Global Recognition: The PGTAA is recognized worldwide and used as the benchmark certification for private academies, international golf resorts, and independent instructors. It is VA-approved for GI Bill reimbursement, further validating its credibility and rigor.

📚 Best-in-Class Content: The program includes a comprehensive home-study course, proprietary textbooks written by industry experts (including Dr. Barry Lotz, author of The Right Mind for Golf), monthly updates, and an optional 5-day in-person certification. You’ll walk away knowing how to build confidence, fix swings, and grow your business and teach golf.

💵 Unmatched Value: For just $995 the PGTAA provides a full Class “A” Master Teaching Professional certification—a fraction of the cost of the PGA, with zero hidden fees. Certification includes your personalized teaching credentials, business-building tools, and lifelong support.

💼 Career Ready: PGTAA graduates go on to teach at private clubs, open successful academies, or coach elite juniors and tour players. You don’t need to apprentice for years or pass arbitrary playing tests—just prove you can teach, and we’ll give you the tools to thrive.

Bottom line: If you’re serious about teaching golf—not managing a golf shop—the PGTAA offers the most efficient, respected, and content-rich path to becoming a certified golf instructor.
