The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is a voluntary sustainability program for U.S. cotton, providing traceability through a proprietary system that tracks U.S. Cotton and Protocol Cotton based on farm-level sustainability metrics. The program supports U.S. cotton growers in their sustainability journey and offers brands and retailers the traceability needed to meet their sustainability targets. A key feature is the ability to measure sustainability efforts through quantifiable metrics and offer article-level traceability. Additionally, the Trust Protocol collaborates with industry partners to align with best practices, aiming to enhance the resilience and sustainability of U.S. cotton production. Its efforts include the Climate Smart Cotton Program, offering growers financial benefits and aiding environmental stewardship.
