Controllit AG is a German consulting and software company specializing in Business Continuity Management (BCM), IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), and Crisis Management. Based in Hamburg, we have been helping organizations prepare for disruption, protect critical business processes and IT services, and strengthen their overall resilience since 2000.

What sets Controllit apart is the combination of more than 25 years of specialist experience, hands-on consulting expertise, and our own BCM and ITSCM software platform, [alive-IT]. We don’t treat business continuity as an isolated documentation or compliance exercise. Our goal is to help organizations build practical management systems that work in the real world, before, during, and after a serious disruption.

More than 25 years dedicated to business continuity. Controllit was founded on the idea that traditional emergency planning needed a more interdisciplinary, structured approach, connecting business processes, IT, organizational structures, resources, recovery strategies, and crisis management. Today we work with organizations ranging from medium-sized businesses to major enterprises and public-sector bodies across many industries. Our founder and Board member, Matthias Rosenberg, FBCI, has worked in BCM and ITSCM for more than 25 years and is closely connected to the international BCM community as a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute.

Consulting and software from one specialist. We are both a consulting company and a software developer. Our consultants implement these systems in real organizations, and that experience continuously shapes our software. Our software expertise, in turn, helps clients move beyond spreadsheets and static documents to automated workflows, structured dependencies, and BCM and ITSCM that are measurable and auditable.

[alive-IT], our own BCM and ITSCM platform. Developed in Germany since 2000, [alive-IT] is designed specifically around BCM, ITSCM, emergency preparedness, recovery planning, testing, and crisis response. Capabilities include Business Impact Analysis (BIA), resource and dependency management, recovery planning, gap analysis, automated plan creation and maintenance, workflow management, reporting, exercises and tests, real-time recovery orchestration, crisis management, and alerting. It is available as SaaS or on-premises, uses a concurrent-user licensing model, and has been awarded a Gold Medal by SoftwareReviews based on customer feedback.

Business Continuity Management. We support the entire BCM lifecycle, from governance, policies, and Business Impact Analysis through risk assessment, continuity strategies, plans, exercises, testing, and continuous improvement, aligned with ISO 22301, ISO 22317, and BSI Standard 200-4.

IT Service Continuity Management. We help organizations identify critical IT services and their dependencies, define recovery requirements, assess recovery capabilities, close gaps, and establish effective IT emergency management, connecting business requirements to technical recovery so organizations can answer the key question: can our IT actually recover within the time the business requires?

Crisis Management. Controllit also helps organizations establish professional crisis management structures that go well beyond a crisis manual.
